The Local Planning Council (LPC) provides a forum for the identification of local priorities for child care and the development of policies to meet the needs identified within those priorities.
PCOE ECE receives limited funding to provide financial assistance to families needing child care who are working, seeking employment or attending school/training.
ECE provides professional development workshops to early childhood teachers, parents, and family child care providers.
PCOE ECE offers high quality preschool programs for three and four year olds. There is no cost for most families - however, depending on the program chosen and family income - there may be a small co-pay.
PCOE provides a variety of services to existing and potential providers. Licensing, regulations, site visits, zoning information, record keeping, budget development & other resources pertaining to setting up a small business. Early education workshops are offered on a regular basis
|Early Quality Matters (EQM) is a Quality Rating and Improvement System, focused on providing information, resources and support to early care and education programs, including family child care homes serving children birth through age 5. |
The first 5 years of a child's life are critical for brain development. By supporting and developing when children are very young, early childhood development and education programs can complement parental investments and produce large benefits to children, parents, and society.
