​Is testing required to apply for a position?

​Some positions with PCOE do require testing. If testing is a requirement for a position, it will be specified on the job vacancy notice and EdJoin posting.

​What is the NCLB test?

​The NCLB (No Child Left Behind) test is a proficiency test that must be passed in order to work as a Teacher Assistant in the Special Education and Alternative Education departments. The test may be waived if proof of one of the following is provided with an application: 48 units of college coursework, AA degree, or California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) verification.
