Executive Director, SELPA
Troy Tickle serves as the Executive Director of the Placer County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). Troy holds a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from Northern Iowa University, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from Northern Iowa University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Iowa State University. Troy began his educational career working as a speech pathologist for Panama-Buena Vista Union School district in 1999 In Kern County. He has a rich background in serving children on the autism spectrum.
Prior to moving to Placer County, Troy served as the Kern County Consortium SELPA Coordinator. He was actively involved in the community as a youth sports coach and served as the President of Kern Assistive Technology Center, a non-profit agency serving the technology needs of disabled children.
Troy’s vision is not only for all children to have equal access to an education in the least restrictive environment, but that all children have a rich and fulfilling educational experience in our Placer County schools.
